About Inuda Innovations:
Inuda Innovations is a one-year-old engineering business based at the Sussex Innovation Centre. Founded and run by graduates and students from the University of Sussex with the aim to build stuff and help other people do the same. Our approach is to explore, deliver and enjoy.
Our three focus areas are in building:
- web based communities using social software
- green technologies from electro-mechanical devices
- enterprising technology ventures that make a difference
Recent projects include:
- a web-based collaboration system for doctors
- an internet community for art lovers
- an energy monitor for the home
- tools for social (Web 2.0) applications
- a knowledge management system for the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
Job description:
Inuda Innovations is looking for an exceptional web-based software developer to take leading roles on a range of ‘Web 2.0′ style start-up
projects.
We’d like to hear from computer scientists, engineers or other gifted software developers looking for an unconventional full-time job. The successful candidate will receive a ticket to Brighton’s premiere web development conference d.Construct in September and will also be supported, if they choose, in applying for a relevant part-time degree at the University of Sussex.
Skills range:
What is most important to us is that you enjoy creating great software, built around user needs. In addition to this you need to
have:
- A passion for solving challenging problems
- An appreciation of web based software architectures
- A solid understanding of the principals of object orientated programming
- Had contact with a range of operating systems and software development platforms
- Spent your own time on personal interest and/or open source software projects
You might also have some of the following:
- Experience with Ruby or Python and AJAX user interfaces
- Knowledge of RESTful web application architectures, test or behaviour driven development and subversion version control.
- Entrepreneurial aspirations to start a technology business of your own
- Academic aspirations to gain an MSc or PhD
Salary:
As a graduate Software Engineer you’ll start on £18,500 a year. We hope to increase this quickly based on regular performance reviews. As an innovative start-up business we believe in sharing ownership with our employees. You’ll be creating much of the value of our business, so
after a probationary period we hope to be able to reward you with a share of equity in the company or revenue from the project(s) you work
on.
